What Is The IDL Community Division?
The IDL Community Division is a competitive division within the IDL that features top community teams from around the world. Selected teams compete live as part of IDL’s 2026 event season.

Who Can Apply?
The Community Division is open to:
- Juniors (17 & Under)
- Adults (18+)
Both established teams and up-and-coming teams with proven competition experience are encouraged to apply.
How Does Eligibility Work?
Eligibility is based on your team’s home country and city. Each location is assigned to one Community Division event.
Teams may only apply to the event they are eligible for. Applications submitted to the wrong event may not be considered. You can confirm your eligible event by the Community Division Eligibility by Region section.
Can a Team Apply to More Than One Event?
No. Teams may only apply to one Community Division event based on their eligibility.

How Are Teams Selected?
Teams are evaluated based on:
- Competitive performance quality
- Team cohesion and execution
- Experience and competition history
- Overall readiness for a live IDL event environment
Priority is given to local city and country teams. Exceptional non-local teams may be considered based on competitive caliber. As the IDL expands, so will its competition locations. Stay tuned for affiliate competitions in the coming years as a clearer pipeline into IDL competition slots.
Is There Prize Money?
Yes. Prize money is awarded in both the Junior and Adult divisions.
Adults:
- 1st: $10,000 USD
- 2nd: $5,000 USD
- 3rd: $1,000 USD
Junior:
- 1st: $5,000 USD
- 2nd: $2,500 USD
- 3rd: $1,000 USD
How Many Teams Are Selected Per Event?
Each Community Division event will feature:
- 10 Adults Teams
- 10 Junior Teams
A total of 20 Community Division Teams will be selected per event.
Do We Need a Finalized Roster to Apply?
No. You may submit an estimated team size during the application. Final rosters will be collected from selected teams at a later stage.
Can We Update Our Application After Submitting?
No edits can be made once an application is submitted. If critical information needs to be updated, contact IDL directly.
How Will Teams Be Notified?
Selected teams will be contacted via the team email address provided in the application during the selection weeks listed above.
If Selected, What Happens Next?
Selected teams will receive:
- Official confirmation
- Event-specific detailsInstructions for submitting individual dancer information
- Additional competition logistics and requirements
